Obituary of Margaret Evan McLeod

MARGARET EVAN McLEOD (nee Messner) Margaret died on Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Regina. Predeceased by her husband Derril in 2007 and her brother David in 1961, she will be greatly missed by her daughter Betty (Alex) of Victoria; son Malcolm (Shirley) and their daughters Annie and Valerie of Regina; daughter Heather (Christopher) and their daughter Sophie of Ottawa; and her nephew Gerry (Laurie) of Victoria. Margaret was born February 1, 1926 in Kenaston, SK, but lived in the Lebret area, where her family farmed. After graduating from Lebret high school, she moved to Regina to work for the Department of National Revenue. Margaret was married to Derril in 1950 and lived in Regina. She devoted her seemingly boundless energy to the love and care of her family and embraced the vocation of homemaker. Margaret was a patron of the Norman MacKenzie Art Gallery and numerous other local and national charities. Margie? was a wonderful cook and hostess, a passionate flower gardener at the familys B Say Tah cottage and a regular on the Fort QuAppelle golf course. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday November 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with The Rev. Betty McLeod Miller officiating.
