Obituary of Marjorie Ann Beisel

Marjorie Beisel (nee Richardson) 1938 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who passed away on July 15, 2009. After a courageous battle with cancer, Marge is now at peace with our Lord. Predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Viola Richardson and husband, Don Beisel, she leaves to mourn her two loving daughters, Lori Oyka and Terry (Mike) Mario, five grandchildren: Shawna Simcak (Chris), Jason Simcak (Chanda), Britt, Ali and Matt Mario and two great-grandchildren Michayla and Ashton. She also leaves to mourn brothers Ernie (Rikki) Richardson and Sam (Kay) Richardson and many nieces and nephews. Marge was born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan in 1938 and was raised in Regina attending Davin School then Central Collegiate. She worked at the University of Regina in the Education Faculty until her retirement in 2003. Aside from being her grandchildrens #1 fan, Marge was best known both professionally and amongst family and friends for her exemplary organizational skills, attention to detail and impeccable memory. She was passionate about recording her family history in creatively and lovingly crafted scrapbook photo albums and in the family tree genealogy. She was very generous with her time as she helped family and friends organize their homes and offices. She also loved to be with her family, whether it was helping Lori with her catering work or enjoying warm summer days followed by the 5 oclock dance party at the Mario cottage. Weekly shopping trips with sister-in-law Kay, visits to the Casino with long-time friend, Phyllis, regular lunches with the lunch bunch? girls, Edie and Sharon, and, of course, reading filled the rest of her time. Marges courageous battle against cancer should serve as an inspiration for all who knew her to be strong and face with dignity any obstacles placed before us. We would like to express a special thanks to all the loving care provided at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the William Booth Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina S4R 8P6 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3. A celebration of Marges life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 3:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina with Rev. Malcolm French officiating.
