Obituary of Mary Fellner

On Wednesday, August 5, 2009, Mary Fellner, late of Regina, passed away peacefully at the William Booth Special Care Home surrounded by her family at the age of 83 years. Mary was predeceased by her parents Michael and Elizabeth; husband Nick; brothers Mike, John, and Rudolph; sisters Katherine (Jake) Balzer, Amelia (Frank) Anwender; and sister-in-law Mary (Adam) Barth. She is survived by her sons Nick (Joanne), Dennis, Bob (Elaine), and Gerald (Norma); her grandchildren Nicole Fellner, Janine (Travis) Taylor, Ryan (Christal) Fellner, Bryan (Colleen Grad) Fellner, Annette (Dave Burr) Fellner, Karla (Kirby Lambert) Fellner, Kim (Jeff Halliday) Fellner, and Luke Fellner; her great-grandchildren Christen, Chelby, Chaelyn Guckert, Jagden Taylor, Eric Fellner, Reece and Ryleigh Burr; her sister Agnes (Gerald) Seipp; brothers Joe (Marion) Mack, Tony (Mamie) Mack; and sister-in-law Elsie Mantyka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Minton, Saskatchewan. She married Nick Fellner on June 19, 1944 in Pangman, Saskatchewan where they farmed and raised four sons. They moved to Regina in 1961. Mary worked as a housekeeper at the General Hospital for a number of years. She always planted a big garden and a lot of flowers. She was an excellent cook and baker. Nick passed away in 1990. Mary continued to be active in her community; she enjoyed dancing and singing, especially polkas and old-time music. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at William Booth for their kindness and compassion.
