Obituary of Laurie Arthur Patterson

Laurie Arthur Patterson, late of Regina, passed away on August 7, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Ida (nee Hergott); his brothers, Owen whom died in infancy and Eric; his sister, Leta Baxter. Laurie is survived by his loving wife, Loreen Patterson; two sons, Roderick and Robert; daughter, Dawn (Mervin) Andersen; seven grandchildren, Curtis, Tamara, Nolan, Emerson, Skylar, Hudson, Kareena; great-grandchild, Caleb; brother, Ralph Patterson; sisters, Gladys Wilson and Marie Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Hants County, Nova Scotia he moved west as a young man in 1951. He married Loreen on July 1, 1959 and enjoyed the fireworks on their anniversary every year since. Laurie worked 36 years for the Canadian Government in the Agricultural Division, improving the quality of the grains that make up our food. There will be a visitation at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Philips Anglican Church " Living Spirit Centre, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina, SK, S4V 1M1. Rev. Rita Brann will be officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the Regina General Hospital " 3E staff and the Pasqua Palliative Care unit for their assistance and compassion.
