Obituary of Martha Gertrude Thompson

MARTHA G. THOMPSON 1921-2009 Martha (nee Puffalt) passed away peacefully at Princess Villa, Regina, on Saturday, August 15, 2009 with loving family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Stanley in 2005 and her brother Albert Puffalt in 2007, Martha is survived by her son Arnold (Agnes) Thompson, Saskatoon, SK; daughters, Doreen (Gilbert) Lloyd, Wapella, SK, Myrna (Stuart) McCormick, Okotoks, AB and Heather (Lloyd) Affleck, Demaine, SK; eleven grandchildren and twenty great"grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin (Ruth), Victor (Simone), Gordon (Ilona) Puffalt and one sister Frances (Roy) Lonseth; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in Kipling, SK, where she worked at the hospital as a cook for a number of years until marrying Stan Thompson. They lived for a short time in Whitewood before retiring to Kelowna in 1970 and later returned to Saskatoon in 1995. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009, in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave. Regina. Funeral service will be held in Speers Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the charity of their choice. Special thanks to the staff of Princess Villa for their excellent care.
