Obituary of Chesley Lindbergh (Lind) Barbour

The Rev. Chesley Lindbergh Barbour Lind was born in Newtown, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland on November 23, 1927 and died in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 23, 2009. He was predeceased by his son, Donald Kevin, his parents, William and Janet Barbour, and grand-niece, Gail House. Lind is loved and remembered by his wife, Mary Beth, and family: Beverly and Tom Coates, Leah and Karen; David Barbour and Valerie Noftle, Erica and Matthew; Brenda and Don Krueger, Sharon and Chee Seng Tan and Kevin Reinhardt; Michael and Christine Harle, Brian, Jackie and Samantha; Steven and Carla Harle, and Amanda; Jennifer and Jim Tenford. His Newfoundland family: Calvin and Doris Barbour, Kay and Calvin House, Vanessa and Paul. Lind was ordained to ministry in The United Church of Canada in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, on June 5, 1950 and served in churches in Newfoundland, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, retiring in Grand Coulee, Saskatchewan. A Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be held at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Ave., Regina, on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A service and burial will follow in Newtown.
