Obituary of Florence Katherine Ash

Florence Ash June 23rd, 1945 - August 28th, 2009 With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife, mom, granny, sister, aunty, soul mate and friend. Mom was born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, grew up on a farm with her brothers and lived most of the remainder of her life in Regina. She loved spending her time talking late into the night with her family, reading, sewing, preparing for Christmas and cooking wonderful dinners for large family gatherings. Her summers were spent boating and reading at Katepwa Lake with her family. Florence was the glue that held the family together. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Fox Sr. and her brother Frank Fox. She will be forever cherished by her devoted husband Don and greatly missed by her mother Eleanor Craig (Nana?), loving children Gina Fedora and Erik Nelson (Vancouver), Brad and Judy Fedora (Calgary), Mike and Mardy, Simon and Lyndsay, and Jane and Damian Pelletier of Regina. Florences kind and giving spirit will forever live through her grandchildren, Brie, Keigan, Emma, Illyana, Cameron, Aiden, William, Brody and Drew. Family was all that was important to Florence and she always held a special place in her heart for her brothers, Frank (Joyce), Bob (Delores) and Bill (Judith) Fox. Florences niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Tim Fox were also a vital piece of Florences family. We will always be grateful for the special and professional care provided to Florence by the giving and sincere staff at both the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital and the Home Care Group. The medical staff made an unbelievable difference to the quality of Florences last few months with us, their caring, hugs and attention to her comfort within a complicated and emotional environment was greatly appreciated. A simple thank you seems so inadequate. A celebration of Florences life will be held Wednesday, September 2nd commencing at 10:30 am at Speers Funeral Chapel (2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 1C5). In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
