Obituary of Dorothy Isabell Boyle

Boyle " Dorothy Isabell of Eatonia, SK, formerly of Swift Current and long-time Regina resident, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the age of 93 years. Dorothy was a loving Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Her warm, friendly, giving and quiet demeanor was a great gift to people who knew her. Mom loved her family and her knowledge of family history kept contacts alive. Mom and Dads home was always open to family and friends. Delicious home cooked meals were shared with all who came to visit. Mom loved having company and was sorry to see them leave. Many people were fortunate to be on the receiving end of her frequent and newsy letters. Travel with family and friends brought Mom much enjoyment. She was a life-long keeper of diaries " daily records, holiday records and family events. An avid collector of newspaper clippings relating to important current events, Mom made scrapbooks for her family to peruse. Westminster United Church was a large part of Moms life. Along with regular attendance of services, she freely volunteered her time, participated in the UCW and assisted with the Junior Choir. Dorothy enjoyed lawn bowling, alley bowling, square dancing, bridge and card games. Hours of camaraderie were shared in these activities. Moms hands were always busy with crafts " relatives and friends were recipients of crocheted doilies and hand-sewn quilts. She worked retail in Regina for several years, passing on her love and knowledge of sewing. Mom was the second daughter of the late Margaret and James Harrison Winch of Reston, MB. Dorothy was predeceased by an infant sister, Greta; her husband Charles Graham Boyle, of 48 years; a great-granddaughter, Kyra Sirett; her brother Walter Winch; and her sisters, Merle Champion and Florence Birnie. Mom leaves to celebrate her life, daughters, Cheryl (David) Banks of Kyle, SK, and Edrie (Bob) Smandych of Kelowna, BC; son Larry (Connie) Boyle of Rouleau, SK; her grandchildren: Angela Boyle (Bill) of Rouleau, SK, Rick (Rebecca) Boyle of Kindersley, SK, Sandy (Mike) Sirett of Rouleau, SK; great-grandchildren: Christine, Michael, Dylan, Kayla, Austin, Haley, and Chloe; as well as many beloved relatives and friends. A Celebration of Dorothys Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK with Darrell Reine officiating.
