Obituary of Joseph 'Joe' Henry Scheibel

Joseph (Joe) Scheibel It is with saddened hearts we announce the death of Joseph Scheibel on September 24, 2009 at the Pasqua Hospital. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Marion; his loving son, Stewart; daughter-in-law, Sharron; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was a farmers farmer from age 16. In 1943, he began what was to become a 40 year relationship with Parrish & Heimbecker. During the winter, Joe would drive in from Wilcox where he farmed, to sell the flour and coal around town in a horse drawn wagon. During the 50s he was promoted to plant foreman. Joe retired at 71 when the Elevator was closed. He promptly set up his own business as an independent broker of registered seed grains. This successful venture garnered him many awards from Seed & Wheat Grower organizations across the prairies. To ensure he didnt get complacent Joe and Marion bought a cottage and renovated it. Joe, with the love and support of his wife, Marion, lived a rich and enjoyable 94 years. He is now where every year is a bumper crop and there are no quotas. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK with Rev. Richard Jasiak MSF presiding.
