Obituary of Kathleen Isabel McGregor

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen (Kay) Isabel McGregor on September 28, 2009. Kay is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lois (Bob); son, Kirk (Nikki); grandchildren, Darla (Nick), Erin, Nathan (Jonessa), Matthew (Ashleigh), Kathleen, Scott, and Jeff; her treasured great-granddaughter, Willow. Kay was predeceased by her husband, Capt. Duncan William McGregor. Born in Regina in September of 1917, Kay was a special person who would bring a smile to the face of whoever she came into contact with, by a joke or just with a smile. She had an inner strength that helped her raise Lois and Kirk on her own after losing her husband. She made many sacrifices along the way to ensure that her kids had every chance to succeed. She was someone who would stand up for what she believed in. Kay was an avid sports fan, beginning as a young person watching her brothers play for the Regina Pats. She loved watching her grandchildren play organized sports and, of course, supported the Riders through thick and thin. Many thanks to the staff at Cherished Hearts Personal Care Home, who provided Kay with much love and care. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7. A private interment will be held at the Soldiers Plot at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery on October 23, 2009. A book of online condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
