Fergusson, Evelyn Margaret passed peacefully October 17, 2009 at age 85 in Regina. She was predeceased by husband, James Roy in 1980; brother, Dr. Paul Schwann; parents Joseph W. and Elizabeth M. Schwann; and sister-in-law, Lydia Schwann. She will be sadly missed by her children, Jim (Cheryle), Brian (Donna), Sheila (Craig), Rob, Ian (Laura) and Carol (Andy), grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Joseph Schwann, Dr. Gordon (Kay) Schwann, Vivian (Gerry) Beach, Phyllis Schwann; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ev was born and educated in Regina, attending both school and business college. She used her business skills during WWII to support the war effort by working at a munitions factory in Ajax, Ont. and at Simpsons Sears when she returned to Regina. She married Roy in 1950 and devoted her life to raising their six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked in the family store, the Regina Branch of the Sask. Assoc. for the Mentally Retarded (now Sask. Assoc. for Community Living), and then pursued a career in bookkeeping. Ev and Roy were active with the Kinsmen Club and Kinettes. Ev selflessly gave much of her time helping family, friends, neighbours, community and charities. She was a woman of quiet faith and was dedicated to the CWL for 48 years, and the Regina Council of Women. She felt honoured when awarded the CWL Maple Leaf Service Award? last year. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to staff at Extendicare Sunset for giving her the compassionate care which she so richly deserved. A prayer vigil will be held 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Martins Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, Monsignor Ken Miller officiating.
