Obituary of Helmut Henry Reich

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Helmut Henry Reich (Hal) at the age of 88. Hal is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Hertha Reich; his daughter Denyce Lundeen (Glen); son Allan Reich (Rhonda) and grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Reich. Hal was born in Germany on April 23, 1921 and immigrated to Canada when he was six. He was educated in Winnipeg and lived there until he moved to Regina in 1965. During the war years he worked on the Alaska Highway for five years with the U.S. Government. When he came home he married Hertha. For twenty years Hal worked as an accountant in Winnipeg and then was manager of the Saskatchewan Region of Creditel Canada in Regina. He was an active member for many years with Regina Lions. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Hal loved the outdoors, hunting geese and deer, fishing, camping, reading and enjoyed exploring Gods beautiful world with Hertha travelling to Asia, Europe, South America, Puerto Vallarta and many cruises. He had a great zest for life and loved people. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK with Rev. Robert Leeson officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined and donations in memoriam may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 3Z4.
