Obituary of Rex Wilson

Dr. Rex Wilson passed away peacefully on November 3, 2009 after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen; his only brother, Ivan (Eileen); daughters, Layna Wilson, Joanne (Gordon) Wiley; grandchildren, Aaron, Christie, Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Ciara, Noah and Lucas. Rex was born in Leeds, England where he spent his early years and served with the R.A.F. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He immigrated to Canada where he spent his professional career with the Federal Government (Health of Animals Branch). Rex was a past member of the Regina Rotary Club and the Wascana Country Club. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Ming Fok, Stan and the Nursing Staff of the Emergency Department and Unit 5E at the Regina General Hospital for such compassionate care, support and kindness. In keeping with Rexs wishes, a private family service will be held. Friends are invited to a reception Friday, November 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Wascana Country Club to share memories of Rex. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 " 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8 or a charity of their choice.
