Obituary of Edith Amelia Foster

Surrounded by loving family, Edith Amelia (Ferguson) Foster passed away peacefully on November 22, 2009. A wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma, she will be deeply missed by all. Edie was born in Saskatoon on November 7, 1920. She graduated from Nutana High School and Saskatoon Technical School. She married Albert Myrel Foster in Saskatoon in 1941. They lived in Yorkton, Toronto and Saskatoon before moving to Regina in 1949. Together they raised 8 children. She enjoyed an 18 year career at Stelco. She was a member of Zion United Church where she volunteered her time over the years doing various activities and especially loved being in the church choir. She enjoyed life and particularly being with family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, William and Melissa Ferguson; husband Al Foster; brother Aubrey Ferguson; and sister Willa Henry. Edies life will be celebrated by her children: Butch (Liz), Bruce (Linda), Brenda (Skip) Reeder, Ralph, Ken (Natalie) all of Regina, Gail (Bill) Yanko of Oklahoma, Ron (Lea) of Calgary, Phil (Laurel) of Kamloops; her 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brother Mac Ferguson. A special thank you to Dr. Zwai and the terrific nurses on ward 5A at the Regina General Hospital for the great care and compassion mom received during her stay. Moms life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion United Church, 120 Broad Street, Regina, with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Interment at a later date.
