Obituary of Royal Louis Soluk

Royal Louis Soluk On Friday November 11th 2009 a wonderful father, husband, and friend left us. Royal Louis Soluk passed away after a brief illness at his home at Extendicare Sunset in Regina. Royal is survived by his two children Carmen and her husband Terry Deck, Dean and his wife Daniela Soluk, his former wife and her husband Connie Braun and Dr. Harold Miller, his two sisters Jean and Nancy granddaughter Rebecca Percy and former son in law Al McCune. Royal was born on July 3, 1939 in Winnipeg Manitoba and spent his childhood in Virden Manitoba before deciding on a career as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in May 1960. His 20 years at a member of the RCMP allowed him to travel and live throughout the entire country experiencing a fulfilling life not afforded to many people. In 1973, Royal studied for and received a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Blackstone Law School in Chicago. Anyone fortunate enough to meet Royal during his long, satisfying and rewarding life walked away from the experience knowing his intelligence, patience, compassion, fairness, and sense of humor. He was a professional photographer who loved to spend evenings with friends and family showing pictures and slides and entertaining everyone with his incredible stories of all of his travels that took him across this great country. He was also a gifted carpenter and general handyman who could build and fix anything he put his mind to. Royal Soluk is a man who will be dearly missed by many people. Royal's funeral will be held this Sunday December 20, 2009 starting at 11:00AM at the RCMP Chapel in Regina. Access is from 11th Ave. All of Royal's family and friends are welcome to attend.
