Obituary of Arleigh Wilton Affleck
Arleigh passed away peacefully in the William Albert retirement center in Emerald Park, SK on December 22, 2009 in his 100th year. Arleigh was born on March 22, 1910 at Davidson SK, and grew up on the family homestead at Demaine SK. In 1953 Arleigh married Annie King. They began their farming career in the Rocanville SK district in 1954 and continued farming until retirement in 1980. Annie passed away in 2002. Arleigh then moved to the Regina area in 2004 where he resided near close family until his recent passing. He was predeceased by his infant sister Ava, a sister Ruth James in 1976, and brothers Hartley in 1985, and Lyle in 2005. Arleigh is survived by one sister Marie Morrow of Kelvington SK, and one brother Wayne, of Kyle SK, as well as a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and their respective families spanning several generations. His presence will be greatly missed, and his example forever appreciated. The funeral service will be held in the McNaughton School Gym, 904 Gordon Rd., Moosomin, SK, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Webster Cemetery near Rocanville.
