Obituary of Florence Elma Violet Heinemann

Florence Elma Violet Heinemann (Ramsay), RN, age 80 years, was called to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the eve of Wednesday, December 30, 2009 with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her father and mother, James (Jim) and Florence Ramsay; her two brothers, Douglas and Joseph. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband of 51 years, Walter; her three sons, Lyndon (Tammey); Kevin (Sherry-Lin Matychuk); Trevor (Dawn) and her daughter Karen (Jim) Wiome; and all of her grandchildren. Florence was born and raised in Qu'Appelle, SK. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN), and worked for many years in Regina and surrounding communities. Florence and Walter were married in 1958 in Qu'Appelle at the Presbyterian Church. Florence left her beloved profession shortly thereafter to raise her family and live on the farm near Regina. She returned to nursing on a casual basis after the children were in high school. Florence and Walter retired from farming in 1996 when they moved to Regina to be closer to most of their children and grandchildren. A Praise and Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florence and Walter Heinemann Endowment Fund of Lutheran Church-Canada Financial Ministries (LCCFM), 3074 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y2 or to Palliative Care, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
