Obituary of Jarvis Albert Molson

Jarvis Albert Jerry? Molson passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, in the early hours of January 4, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth and his children Doug (Jan), Sheila Prew (Greg), Bev Molson (Herbert Kort), Sandy Naylor (Jay), and Connie Molson and his beloved grandchildren, Bonnie (Dylan) and Tara Molson; Bret (Sonia), Kyra (Mike), Leah and Kelsey Prew; and Maia and Claire Naylor; and Jans children Ryan, Shawn and Nicole Stephenson. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Molson, sisters Annie Zondervan and Mary Maxwell, and brother Ted Molson. Jerry was born on a farm near Moosomin, Saskatchewan on March 5, 1921. He enlisted in the Regina Rifle Regiment at age 18 and fought overseas in World War II, being wounded twice. On D-Day, June 6, 1944 he was one of the brave Canadians who stormed Juno Beach at Normandy. He returned to Moosomin in 1945 where he later met and married Ruth Elmore. He re-enlisted in the Armed Forces in 1955, and the family lived in Ontario for many years before returning to Saskatchewan in 1966. After retiring from the Armed Forces, Jerry enjoyed a 15 year career as a Legal Assistant at Balfour, Moss Law firm. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made, in memoriam, to a charity of choice. Memorial Service to be held in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at a later date will be in the Field of Honor at Riverside Memorial Park.
