Jean passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband, Laverne (Verne) in 1988 and her sister, Doreen Parker in 2007. Jean was born July 25, 1912 to Frank and Lottie Argue from Midland, ON, who had settled in Fife Lake, SK. She will be dearly missed by her nieces Linda (Rob) Leader; Carole (Del) Blewett; and nephew Allan (Val) Parker. Jean and Verne were married at the Westminster United Church in 1934. Together they enjoyed square dancing and later lawnbowling. Jean was an avid curler and competed in many bonspiels. As a skillful crafter, Jean won many ribbons at the exhibition for her fine knitting. While at Pioneer Village, she enjoyed a special friendship with Arlene, Maryann and Penny, and referred to them fondly as her daughters.? The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Pioneer Village, Main West, for their kind and compassionate care, and to Dr. Van Heerden for his excellent care. A celebration of Jeans life will be held in the late spring. Donations may be made in memoriam to a charity of choice. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
