Obituary of Bob Kindopp

On Saturday, January 9th, 2010, at Regina General Hospital at the age of 83, Dads long battle with emphysema ended peacefully with his four children by his side. Bob is predeceased by his wife Yvette (2005) and son Darcy (2008). He is survived by daughter Cindy (John) Kennedy of Swift Current and their daughters Jane and Jill; son Dean (Cathy) of Regina, and Deans children Chad and Sarina; son Bart (Linda) of Bonnyville, Alberta and their sons Shaun and Sheldon; son Derrick (Kynan) and their children Mason and Ansley. Bob is also survived by his brother Herb of Medicine Hat, Alberta, predeceased by two sisters and seven brothers. Bob was born on a farm by Mazenod, SK on July 16th, 1926. He was a great ball player and avid golfer in his younger years. He also loved animals and had a soft spot for them. He wore many hats in his lifetime, a few being a lumberjack, mattress factory worker, concrete worker (where he delighted in the fact that one of his past teachers worked for him). He then started his lifelong career in the painting business with Les Maier " where he came to meet his wife Yvette. Bob was painting the Co-op Creamery here in Regina where Yvette worked. They married on October 6th, 1956 and resided in Regina, where they raised a family of one girl and four boys. Bob then started his own painting company, Bobs Decorating Ltd. Bob was a great father and grandfather who worked tirelessly to provide a good life for his family. He had many friends he enjoyed socializing with, and of course playing Rummy. As many know, Bobs other passion was frequenting Casinos " Regina Casino, and countless trips to Las Vegas where he, more times than not, paid for his entire trip with his winnings. Bob will be fondly remembered and dearly missed for his quick wit and warm heart. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
