Obituary of M. Beryl Martin

MARGARET BERYL MARTIN (nee Collins) Beryl was born June 1, 1920 in Simpson, SK, the eldest of four children of Herb and Laura Collins. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, she taught school briefly in Bracken, SK, then in Moose Jaw, and completed her teaching career in Regina at the Balfour Technical School. She was married to a well-known Regina dentist, Kenneth Martin and they raised three children. Beryl passed away in Regina, SK on Sunday, January 10, 2010. During the latter years of her journey, she faced numerous physical challenges which she met with courage and grace. Beryl is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, and her brothers Jack Collins and Dr. Harry Collins, both of Saskatoon, SK. She is survived by her sister Lois Horton of Vegreville, AB. Beryl leaves to mourn her sons, Douglas (Jackie Lindenbach) of Fort QuAppelle, Donald of Nipawin, her daughter Jan Broderick and grandsons Riley and Taylor of Sherwood Park, AB. The family wishes to thank the many people who provided excellent care for Beryl at Victoria Park Personal Care Home, Pasqua Hospital, Ward 4A, and Sunset Extendicare Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Interment in Regina Cemetery.
