Obituary of Ada May Black

Ada Black was born in the Bethune District on April 8, 1918, and she passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in Regina, at age 91. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Black in June 1984, as well as twelve siblings. She is survived by her son, Ken (Debra George) and daughter Bobbi (Rick Bates); and five grandchildren: Lauren Black, Erin Black, Colin Black, Madeline Bates, and Kira Bates, all of Regina. Ada is also survived by her sister-in-law Annie Curtis of Bethune; brother-in-law Lloyd Thistlewaite of Swift Current; and many nieces and nephews. Ada greatly enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, friends and extended family. She was a gifted piano player who enjoyed playing for her friends at many household gatherings. An ardent Riders fan, a great maker of pies and a wonderful friend to all, Ada will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Avenue with Pastor Jeff Tank officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation of Saskatchewan, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 0W8, or to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina SK, S4P 3G2.
