Obituary of Joseph Peter Holowaty

December 30, 1935 " January 21, 2010 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Joe is survived and forever loved by his wife, Jean, of 50 years; children and grandchildren CAMERON (Linda) Kali and Dillon Holowaty, KEVIN (Charlene) David and Kirsten Holowaty, COLLEEN (Murray) Rob and Adam Lonseth, and BRUCE (Nadine) Jasmine and Joey Holowaty; siblings Marie (Clarence) Sauter, Larry (Annette) Wallace, and sister-in-law Fay Holowaty; Jeans siblings Marion (John) Boland, Bernice (Leo) Holowaty and Morgan (Betty) Adam and numerous very special nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parentsWilliam and Annie Holowaty; brother Walter Holowaty; mother-in-law Jessie and sister-in-law Gloria Adam. Joe was born and raised in Moosomin, SK and held many cherished memories of Moosomin, and the Pipestone Valley. He was a passionate entrepreneur owning and operating businesses in Langenburg and Regina. The venture he most embraced was a fly-in fishing camp in Northern Saskatchewan, Drinking Falls Lodge,? which he owned and operated, together with his family and from which he retired at an early age. He also developed and loved their acreage near Lumsden Beach and fully enjoyed their condo home in Lumsden, SK where he has shared his community leadership abilities. Joe loved life, his treasured family and his wide circle of friends including the guides and their families from Stanley Mission. He was most happy when he could lend a helping hand or share a story or two. His interests included hockey (player and coach), hunting, fishing, nature, and travel. He was truly loved and will be missed. A Celebration of Joes Life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2 pm, at St. Andrews United Church, Lumsden. Cremation, with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to St. Andrews United Church, Lumsden, or a charity of choice.
