Obituary of Paul Frederik Larsen

Paul passed way in Regina on Thursday, January 28, 2010 after a short illness. He was born on the family farm at Parry in 1927, where he farmed and raised a family with his wife, Jewel (Brock). He loved the southern plains, his community and its people. Paul was active in his community giving long service as a municipal councillor, school trustee and member of the United Church. His passions were old time music and the company of friends and family, preferably together. In recent years he picked up his old mandolin and wore out a car as he and Jewel travelled southern Saskatchewan to play with and for his many friends. Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jewel, sons Neil (Donna), Garth, Rod (Wendy) and Brent (Cynthia), and his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederik and Karen, his brother Audon, sisters Agnes and Erna, daughter-in-law Karen, and great-granddaughter, Victoria. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the Milestone United Church with Rev. Tim Ellis officiating. The family extends its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Regina Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion. Donations in Pauls memory may be made to Regina Palliative Care Inc. 4F-4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
