Obituary of Hildegarde Ella Winsnes

Hilde passed away peacefully into the arms of her Father on Thursday, February 4, 2010. Passed before her and awaiting her arrival is her husband Gary Winsnes, beloved son Trevor, father and mother Ernie and Ella Halbach, father and mother-in-law William and Bertha Winsnes, sister Kate Halbach and brother Ed Halbach. Left to joyfully continue Hildes memory is her daughter Lanaya Chartier, grandchildren Gary Raelyn and Eric Chartier, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Janet Winsnes, sister-in-law Jonquil Eyre, nephews and nieces Kevin and Philippa Winsnes (Ethan, Spencer and Simon), Stuart and Hannah Winsnes (Sydney), Trudy and Scott Bratrud (Colin and Heidi), William and Krista Winsnes (Douglas), Josh and Olga Halbach and lifetime best friend Peggy Cram as well as numerous friends and family. Hilde was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from the Royal Alexandra Hospitals School of Nursing and met her husband Gary. They moved to Regina in 1977. Hilde was always known as a loving and caring nurse working at the Wetaskiwin General Hospital, the Plains Health Centre and the Regina General Hospital. At the end of her career she turned to northern nursing working in Fond Du Lac and finally as the charge nurse in Black Lake. Throughout her illness, Hilde gained strength from her desire to return to Black Lake and to the community that she grew to love. In her personal life Hilde was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was so proud of her grandchildren, watching them grow, play and perform. Hildes family would like to thank the nursing staff of 3B and the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, Dr, Chalchal, Dr. Al-Hayki and Dr. Susan Meiers for all of their loving care. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Hildes name to Friends of 3B at the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5, so that they can continue their caring for those in need or to, Do It With Class Young Peoples Theatre c/o Bernie Tice, diwclass@gmail.com to continue her support of youth theatre in Regina.
