Obituary of Helen O'Hagan

HELEN OHAGAN (nee KAUFMANN) On Sunday, December 2, 2012, Helen OHagan passed away at the age of 89. She is survived by her loving family, husband Gerald; daughter Cara-Marie (Robin MacKnight); son Rory (Brenda Zimmerman); grandchildren Aisling and Cecily MacKnight; and by her extended family, sister Margaret Corbin and brothers Joseph (Nina) and Donald (Florence); as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Helen was predeceased by her parents Peter and Catherine (Wiome) Kaufmann; sister Isabel Eckert; and two brothers and their spouses, Peter (Ernestine) and Charles (Elaine). Born in 1923 on a farm in Saskatchewans Round Up School District, Helen received her Bachelor of Arts in 1949 from the University of Saskatchewan, St. Thomas More College, followed by her Bachelor of Education in 1961. A dedicated teacher, Helen enjoyed a 40-year career in education, primarily with the Saskatchewan Government Correspondence School. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 2049 Scarth Street, Regina on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Lorne Crozon, V.G. presiding.
