Obituary of Shirley Corinne Currie

Shirley Corinne, late of Regina SK, passed away Sunday February 14, 2010 at the age of 82, after a decline in health. Predeceased by her parents Francis J and Bernice Clarke, and her brother Bayman Clarke. Shirley is survived by her husband Gordon of 57 years and their three sons; Bob and Joyce of Maple Valley WA, Doug of San Ramon CA, Jim and Safia of Scottsdale AZ; and special granddaughter Rosalyn. Also survived by sisters-in-law Pearl Doane, and Lucille and Jim Meaney, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Weyburn and lived in many small towns in Saskatchewan, being the daughter of a station agent. She graduated from Teachers College and taught grade 1 until 1960 when she took on her career as a stay at home mom who almost solely attended to the many sporting interests of their three sons, while also supporting her husbands many sporting interests. Shirleys sense of fun was well known by her numerous friends. She injected her unique sense of humour into her many interests, such as music. She was an accomplished soloist and pianist. She was a voracious reader and made many countless ceramic treasures. Memorial service will be held Friday February 19, 2010 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina at 1:00 p.m. with Darrell Reine officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
