Obituary of John Robinson

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Robinson, in the state of grace, surrounded by his beloved family, on the evening of March 9, 2010. John was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Harry and Mary Sulymka, paternal grandparents Jack and Annie Mae Robinson, his best friend and brother-in-law Jerry Baiton, his beloved nephew Joshua Page, and father-in-law John ODonoghue. John was born on October 31, 1959, in Newdale, Manitoba to his parents Thomas and Marge Robinson, of Newdale, Manitoba. John is survived by his loving wife, Irene, children: Stephanie, Alex, Neil, Phillip and Genevieve; parents Thomas and Marge; brothers Gregory (Karen) and Matthew (Laceylyn); sisters Catherine, Laura, Angela (Pat) and Lisa (Ted); mother-in-law Etta ODonoghue; brother-in-laws Frank (Audrey), Paul (Sheila), sister-in-law Etta (Christy). John was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John cherished his family and he was a faithful husband and devoted father. John graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1984. He was employed with PPM Canada until 1998 and subsequently worked as Manager of the Regina Analytical Laboratory for the Saskatchewan Research Council. John deeply loved his job at SRC and had great admiration for his co-workers. John enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons Alex, Neil and Phillip, his father Tom, and his nephews Luke and Jeremy. In recent years he became an avid runner and participated in many marathons. He was blessed with an amazing memory and was always keen to share his knowledge with others. John possessed a gift of humor that kept his family and friends entertained with his quick wit. John was a loyal and devout Roman Catholic who lived by the faith and who imparted his values to his family. Prayers will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 in St. Martin RC Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina. Rev. Ken Koep will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 in St. Martin RC Church.
