Obituary of Deena Margaret Jones

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dearly loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt, Deena Jones (Dunnett). She left this world March 11, 2010 with her beloved husband, son, and daughter by her side. Deena was born May 29, 1937 in Hamiota, MB. Her dad, Rev. John Dunnett, was a United Church Minister and with his wife, Jane Rose (Parker) had charges in Pope and Pierson, MB, and Carnduff, Cupar and Riceton, SK in 1952. Deena and three others were the last to graduate Grade Twelve in 1955 from the Riceton School. She entered Grey Nuns School of Nursing and received her RN in 1958. Deena is survived by her beloved husband Bruce, her son Colin (Dorrie) of Rouleau, daughters Nancy (George) Faris of Wilcox, Susan (Jackson) Sahiol of Edmonton. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Deena is also survived by her sisters Joan (Bob) Playfair of Saskatoon, Karen (Eugene) Kitchen of Katepwa, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she cared for very deeply. She had many interests that included genealogy, gardening, sewing for her family, reading, painting, playing games, loved antique shops and looking for treasures, collecting and pressing flowers, camping, travelling, and her love of family and friends. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Don Bater and Pastor Jo Mader officiating.
