Obituary of Richard 'Dick' Walter Gallagher

Richard Dick? Gallagher died peacefully on Thursday March 18, 2010 at Pasqua Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary, his four children Elizabeth, Susan Downey (Patrick), Lucyanne Johnson and Tom (Janice); his four grandchildren Ken, David, Jim and Andrew, and his two great granddaughters Rosemary and Cecilia, and by his surviving brother Louis Gallagher. Dick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and served during WWII in the RCAF as a flying officer in England where he met Mary, the love of his life and dearest friend. He worked over a forty year career for the Bank of Nova Scotia in Western Canada and Barbados. In retirement, he did volunteer work with the Marian Center, St. Annes Church, and served on the Condo Board of Gryphons Walk. Dick lived life with a sense of humor, a sense of generosity and was a wonderful friend to many. He had a great love of nature and enjoyed golf and gardening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010 in St. Annes RC Church, 1701 Cowan Crescent, Regina. A heartfelt thanks goes to Lorraine at CSU and to Cindy and Penny at Palliative Care, Pasqua Hospital for their kind and passionate care.
