Obituary of Ethel Ida Kelley

ETHEL IDA KELLEY Ethel passed away peacefully on December 7, 2012 at the age of 96 years. Ethel was born on April 3, 1916 on a farm near the town of Andill, Saskatchewan. She came to Regina when in her early twenties, married her husband Edward Kelley and continued to reside in Regina until her passing. Predeceased by her husband; her four brothers, Boyd, Ralph, Gordon and Oscar; and her two sisters, Evelyn and Dora. Ethel is survived by her two sons, Gordon (Hazel) and Bernard (Mary); five grandchildren, Grant, Christy, Wendy, Todd and Tara; and eleven great-grandchildren. Ethel had a great love of gardening, knitting and bakery. She had a strong compassion for all animals and found comfort and companionship in later life with her three miniature schnauzers and her cat Holly. In keeping with Ethels wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date in the cemetery in Mossbank, Saskatchewan where Ethel will join her husband and family members. The family would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of Sunset Extendicare in Regina for their excellent care. A special thanks to her dear friend Lil McLean who provided sincere friendship and helped Ethel extend her independence in her home.
