Obituary of Roma Swalm

Roma, born April 30, 1923 to William and Una Gundred Barlow in Earl Grey, SK, passed away April 29, 2010 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina, one day before her 87th birthday. On Nov 22, 1945 Joan was united in marriage with Clarence Evelyn Swalm. The Lord blessed this union with two children, Sandra in 1946 and Stanley in 1950. Joan is predeceased by her parents, husband and children. She is survived by her loving sister, Verity Westman of Regina, SK, son-in-law William Ford of Lipton, SK, sister-in-law Mary Swalm of Regina, SK, grandchildren Sharolyn Capnerhurst (Shawn) of Thunder Bay, ON; Warren Ford (Jodie) of Cranbrook, BC, and great grandchildren Aldan and Peyton Capnerhurst. Joan and Clarence resided and farmed in the Zehner district on a farm that was recently recognized as a Century Family Farm. Joan loved the farm and looking after her horses, cows, cats, and dogs. She was quite active in her farm community showing her kind and generous spirit. Joan had many friends and neighbours that looked out for her on the farm over the decades since her husband's passing. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Chapel, 2180-23rd Avenue, Regina, SK. Interment of ashes at Tregarva Cemetery to be held at a later date. Thank you to Jim and Lorna Greenway of Greenway Country Care Home in Earl Grey, SK and the staff and caregivers at Wascana Rehab Centre for the care given to Joan.
