Obituary of Russell Bolton

On Sunday, May 30, 2010 Russell Bolton passed into the presence of Jesus, his Savior and Lord, surrounded by his loving family. Russell was born June 1, 1924 on the family farm in Scotsguard, Saskatchewan area where he attended rural school and later graduated from Shaunavon High School. He attended business school in Regina, where he met Eunice Mace, his faithful wife and friend of 64 years. He had various employments over the years, but his main occupation was farming. At the age of 26, Russell responded to his own need for personal salvation, largely through the influence and prayers of his godly mother. Russell was a faithful and loving husband and father. He worked hard to care and provide for his family. Most importantly, he directed them to the truth of God and the Bible through family devotions and faithful attention to church attendance. Besides farming, his interests included music, playing the violin, flying lessons, various sports, especially hockey, boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, trips to the hardware store, card and board games, and playing practical jokes. He enjoyed so many of these things with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the highlights of his life. He will be so very lovingly and sadly missed by his wife, Eunice; daughters Delores (Dan) Conway, and Diana (Terry) Quast; grandchildren Jay (Karly) Conway, Joel (Katrin Dobler) Conway, Tammy (Sheldon) Pearce, Mia (Nick) Van Staalduinen and Cole Quast; great-grandchildren Skylar and Finlay Conway and Adryan Pearce; as well as other extended family. Russell was predeceased by his parents Howard and Evelyn, brothers Ross and Glenn, sister Donelda Sly, and grandson Dustin Bolton Quast. A public Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Heritage Alliance Church, 3575 Hillsdale Street, Regina, S4S 3Y4 with Pastor Cory Steinson officiating. A private family interment will take place in Riverside Memorial Park. Those so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Heritage Alliance Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina S4R 1A6. Special thanks to the staff of 3-5 at Wascana Rehab for their compassionate care. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all friends, neighbors, family and our church family, who supported us in so many ways.
