Obituary of Michael James O'Keefe

MICHAEL OKEEFE It is with sadness that the family of Michael Mike? OKeefe announces his passing on Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Regina Pioneer Village, at the age of 88. Predeceased by his wife Rose, Mike is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Judith Clifford and Nancy and Les Thue; grandchildren Kevin and Christine Clifford, Shannon and Dan Pigott, and David Thue; great-granddaughter Anna Rose Pigott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mike worked at SGI for over 30 years and had many memories from his years there. He enjoyed curling during the winter, fishing and boating in the summer. Mike and Rose spent weekends at their cottage on Echo Lake, where he always had an ongoing repair project. Roughrider games were another long-standing interest. Together they spent many happy holidays in Hawaii, and since he was an avid photographer and painter, he spent many happy hours reproducing in paint some of his pictures. For many years Mike was a member of the Gyro Club and looked forward to the meetings and fellowship. Mike was very proud of his family and we will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Inurnment in Riverside Memorial Park. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Saskatchewan Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 108B-3502 Taylor Street E, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 5H9.
