Obituary of Jim Awk Yee

YEE, JIM AWK June 13, 2010 (Age 79) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Jim Awk Yee, beloved husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by father Henry Kye-Jew Yee and mother Fong King-Jane, he is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Susan; six sons, Douglas, Vincent (Cally), Christopher (Anna), Daniel, Morris, Henry (Rubina); eight grandchildren, Shea, Sara, Amanda, Tariq, Caden, Alexander, Zafran, and Malik; sister, Mea (Jim Hom); and numerous relatives. Born on June 10, 1934 in Toisan, China, he came to Regina in 1949. After a long and successful career as a well known businessman and proprietor of the W.K. restaurant, he retired in 1986, with a strong desire to spend time with his family. Jim was an honourable man but those who knew him were honoured. Throughout his life, he showed us the true meaning of strength, courage and love. A generous man, he will be deeply missed but eternally loved. Prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Regina Chinese Alliance Church, 2010 Arens Road East, Regina, with Rev. Gershom Ng officiating. Interment Riverside Memorial Park.
