Obituary of Gerald John Herbst

GERALD JOHN HERBST Gerald passed away suddenly on Monday, June 21, 2010, at the age of 70. Gerry grew up on a farm in southeastern Alberta. He started with the Bank of Nova Scotia at Vauxhall in 1959, and retired after thirty-seven years. He was actively involved with the Maple Leaf Lions Club, CNIB, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His favorite pastimes were curling, golfing, and gardening. Gerry is survived by his wife Berneice; daughters, Betty Waugh (Ron), Heather Riffel (Duane); son Michael Herbst; six grandchildren: Shannon Waugh (Josh), Carla Timmons (Nolan), Jason Waugh (Monique), Wendy Riffel (Chris), Shelly Archer (JR), Bonnie Riffel (David); four great-grandchildren: Catherine, Taylor, Shelby and Allyson; as well as three brothers and three sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass is to be held at the Holy Cross Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends so wishing, may make donations in memory of Gerry to CNIB, 2550 Broad Street, Regina SK, S4P 3Z4 or to the Maple Leaf Lions Club, Box 583, Regina SK, S4P 3A3.
