Obituary of Allan Pletz

On Saturday July 3, 2010, Jesus saw that Allan was getting tired in his battle with a debilitating stroke and wrapped his arms around him and took him home. Allan will forever be in the hearts and memories cherished by his loving wife Eleanor; children Larry (Sonya), Garry (Sharon), Bev (Rob) Deglau and Greg (Angie); grandchildren Nicole, Ashley, Nathan, Matthew, Wesley, Bradley, Meghann, Kalvin and Nisa; great grandchildren Austin, Cody and Alexa. He will be sadly missed by his sister Gen and brothers Ray and Jim. Allan was born to John and Helen Pletz on September 10, 1933 and was raised on the family farm at Lipton, Saskatchewan. On July 3, 1956 he married his true love Eleanor Weikum. They began their journey together in Regina where they made a home for themselves and their children. Allan was a wonderful husband and father putting family before all else. Allan was a kind and caring man whose calling was helping others. He joined the Regina City Police Services in June 1956 where he was employed until his retirement. In post-retirement he took a position with the Saskatchewan Securities Commission and retired for good in 1988. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peters Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8.
