Obituary of Bruce Pearce

With profound sadness the family announces the sudden death of our husband, father, son, brother , uncle and nephew on July 7, 2010 in a motorcycle accident. Bruce was predeceased by his grandparents Bruce and Edna McLeod and Thelma Crispin and Tones parents Tor and Sonja Gulbaek and his nephew Christopher Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife Tone Gulbaek-Pearce and the loves of his life, his daughters: Tomesine (Coel), Tomelise (Matt), Tomelene (Jesse) and Tomenette; his mother and father Art and Merle Pearce; his sister Lynn Hamilton and her children Sherri and Jason (Christine) and their children Makayla and Madilynn; his sister Lee (Randy) Vollman and their children Kyle and Melanie Vollman and her son Landyn; his sister-in-law Siv (Gordon) Canavate and her children Tine (Morten) and Johnny Canavate and his children, Liselotte and Dennis; his brothers-in-law Don Hamilton and Tor Gulbaek and his children Joakim and Julie; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bruce was a man who loved his family and friends. For him, the perfect summer afternoon was aboard the boat, tied to the boats of friends and neighbours on the lake. Such afternoons would not be complete without barbequed burgers and a cooler of beer. Bruces other love was his motorcycle and the long rides he took with it. Those rides brought him freedom and peace, and expressed the youthfulness that defined his personality and character. Bruce was a passionate teacher and administrator who loved all of his students and his many schools, where he truly believed he could make a difference. He had been with Regina Public Schools for more 30 years. At the time of his passing he was the principal of Campbell Collegiate. Bruce had many, many lifelong friends who remain at his familys side. The overwhelming outpouring of support shown by his friends and the community has been a great source of comfort and strength for Bruces family. Those close to Bruce will always remember his zest for life and his ability to form deep, abiding friendships. The celebration of Bruces life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Turvey Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a fund in Bruces name that will support his dreams for students and their education. Donations can be sent to Regina Public Board of Education, 1600 4th Ave., Regina SK S4R 8C8.
