Obituary of Madeliene Barbara Diebel

Madeliene passed away peacefully on Saturday July 24th surround by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis on May 9, 2009. She was also predeceased by her mother and father Eva and Peter. Left to cherish her memory are her children Patricia (Brad) Thompson, Darlene (Ray) Briere, Darrell Diebel, Wanda (Ron) Ludwar, Kathy Diebel (Bob Gamble), Kelly Diebel, and Warren Diebel; her grandchildren Kim (Dwayne) Wolkowski, Matthew Thompson (Amanda Petrychyn), Adam Thompson (Jenny Solonenka), Bryan Briere, Lyndsay (Scott) Moskal, Jerrod Briere (Jennifer Yee), R.J. Ludwar, Michael Ludwar, Katelyn Uhrich and Ryan Uhrich; great-grandsons Logan and Walker Wolkowski; brothers Peter (Jean) Molter, Joseph (Steffie) Molter and sister Theresa (Alex) Burkhart as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Madeliene was born and grew up on the family farm near Lestock. She moved to Regina to complete her secretarial course at Balfour Collegiate. She was employed as a legal secretary in Regina until she married her husband Lewis. They were married in 1952 and eventually made their home in Regina where they raised their seven children. Madeliene was a stay at home mom until her children were older. She worked at various retail and food services and retired from Regina City Hall Cafeteria in 1987. She loved family gatherings and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Rao, Dr. Baird and all the nurses and caregivers at the MPICU at the Regina General Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will occur at St Marys R.C. Church, 2020 Winnipeg Street, Regina on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Lorne Crozon presiding. Cremation with interment at a later date.
