Obituary of Marion Grace Dillon

DILLON " Marion Grace (nee Biden) passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Gerald in 1985, Marion is survived by her children Rick (Michelin) Dillon of Orleans, ON; Judy Rensby (Robin) of Orleans, ON and Rod Dillon (Diana DuMont) of Regina. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her grandchildren, Amy (Brian), Josh (Rachel), Melanie (Rob), Andrea (Guy), Shayna (Americo), Jarod (Melissa), Danielle (Trevor) and Kris, her great-grandchildren Hayleigh, Tanner and Peightyn and one brother, Cec Biden (Hilda) of Indian Head and their family. Marion was born August 29, 1920 in Wolseley, SK. In 1941 she became a member of the Canadian Womens Army Corps serving until June of 1946. She married Gerry in August of that year. They lived in Moose Jaw for a time, before moving to Regina in the early 1950s. She was a long time employee of Eatons, from 1955 to 1990 where she made many friends among her co-workers, keeping in touch with them long after her retirement. Marion inherited her mothers wicked sense of humor and stubborn streak and was a feisty, independent woman who could always be counted on to tell it exactly like it was?. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. Marion spent the last few years of her life at Acaster Place in Regina, after losing her eyesight in 2006. The family would like to extend their thanks to Stephanie, Donna and the various staff who cared for her until her passing. A celebration of Marions life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Zion United Church, 120 Broad Street, Regina. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
