Obituary of Raymond Garfield Carlberg

CARLBERG, Raymond Garfield August 4, 1935 " November 27, 2008 It is with regret that we announce the passing of Ray Carlberg at the age of 73 years. Ray was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Mary (nee Lucky) and brother Pete. Ray leaves to mourn, his daughter Miranda Carlberg Bonnet (Dan Bonnet) and their sons Luke and John of Martensville; his son Jared Carlberg (Monica) and their children Annabeth and Michael of Winnipeg; sister Donna May Byers (Murray) of Onoway, AB; sister-in-law Elaine Carlberg of Regina; Miranda and Jareds mother Collette Carlberg of Regina; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. Ray was born near Osage, SK and farmed most of his life in the area. Ray was an avid curler who won numerous trophies and also loved to play bridge. He had a piercing intellect and enjoyed debating current events, especially relating to politics and economics. He was a devoted and beloved father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. He was known for his determination and fighting spirit, and passionate following of the Roughriders fortunes. Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Osage Church.
