Obituary of Glen Whitman Christie

CHRISTIE, Glen Whitman " Passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Born on January 25, 1926, in Yorkton, SK to Frank and Lily Christie. Glen was predeceased by his parents, and step-mother, May, five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. Glen is survived by his loving wife, Doreen, daughter Maureen (Jim) Burbank of Sherwood Park, AB; son Doug (Marilyn) and their children Meghan Campbell (Scott), Jim (Shauna Kaytor) and Graham; daughter Dianne (Ian) Aldworth and their children Chad, Corey, Kelly Close (Brad) and Jenny Aldworth (Mark). Glen was blessed with two great-grandchildren Jenna Close and Dylan Christie. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Don Gilley of Victoria, BC; brother-in-law Herman Reitmeier, Regina; sisters-in-law Marcella Beck, Nanaimo; Veryl Beck, Edmonton; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Glen was a WWII veteran serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada and Great Britain. He formed many lasting friendships as he travelled Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia as a representative for Christie Cookies. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Doug Ponto officiating.
