THOMAS, ELEANOR MAXINE (MAC) nee Burton

Mac passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years. Mother of Gaye (Robert Dunkley) and son Thomas, Kamloops, BC; Michael (Patty) and sons Andrew and Mark, Lumsden; Doug (Mary Ann Rooney), Regina and children John (Andrea), Saskatoon, Amy, Chicago USA and David, Regina; Kathy (Maureen Kachor), Furdale, SK; and also survived by her sister Jeanne (Alec Zazulak). She was predeceased by her husband, Archie; and brothers, William and John. Mac was born in Fairlight, SK, where her father owned the local hardware store. In 1937 the family moved to Regina where Mac attended Davin School and later Central Collegiate. Mac and Archie were married on September 20, 1947 in Regina. Archie started his career with SaskTel and Mac was his loving support at home. Following Archies retirement in 1975, they relocated to their beloved farm? in the beautiful Wascana valley, where they spent many happy years. Mac was an avid sports fan, she could never get enough baseball and was one of the original Rider season ticket holders. She loved the outdoors and country living, gardening and landscaping. Her home in the country was the centre for family celebrations and their many animal companions, especially Polo and Hogan. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008 in the Chapel of Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina, SK. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home for their friendship and loving care of Mac; also to Precy Lopez and staff at Parkview Lodge, Regina.
