Obituary of Lindsay John Armitage

ARMITAGE, Lindsay John " It is with great sadness and grief the family of Lindsay Armitage of Elk Ridge, SK report his untimely passing. Born in Regina on October 28, 1962 he is survived by daughter Lauren, and son Grayson, their mother Cara Armitage of Regina, his parents Lyell and Donelly Armitage of Chilliwack, BC, twin sister Nancy (Allan Arndt) Chilliwack, brothers Paul, of Vancouver, Perry (Linda) New Westminster, and numerous other relatives. Lindsay attended public school in Regina and finished his schooling in Vancouver after relocating there with his family in 1976. He returned to Regina in 1988. For the majority of his working life he worked in sales. He loved to cook, sing, and music in general, build things, tell stories and jokes. His keen sense of humor will be remembered by all. By nature Lindsay was a loving, caring, and helping friend to numerous individuals. For the past two years he worked and lived in Waskesiu, Prince Albert National Park. He spent every summer holiday of his youth at his familys cottage and grew to love the area. Lindsay was afflicted with the disease of drug addiction which he struggled to overcome for many years. He succeeded in-part and experienced several periods of recovery and contentment. He is now at peace and in the hands of his higher power. We all love you Lindsay and will cherish your memory even though for now your absence leaves a dreadful hole in our hearts. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Cremation. A celebration of Lindsays life will be held at the Gateway Christian Fellowship, 1812 Arthur Street, Regina, SK on Monday, December 15th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lindsays memory to the Regina Food Bank.
