Obituary of Ardella Emily Wicijowski

WICIJOWSKI " Ardella Emily (Kiehl) of Regina and Shore Acres passed away suddenly but peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Ardella was predeceased by her parents Bernhard and Minnie Kiehl; her brother Donald Kiehl; sister Clarice Coleshaw; brothers-in-law Pearly Matchett and Jack Minty. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years, Gordon; son Tim and Laurice of Regina and their children, Taryn, Amelia and Eric; daughter Wendy Niziol and her children Joseph and Angus of Houston and Rebecca of Chicago; son Stuart and Marlene Boucher of Regina and Stuarts children Jarek and Kasia. Ardella is also survived by her sister Dorothy Minty of Regina; brother Gerald (Allison) of Okotoks, AB; sister Eila (Jim) Badley of Milestone; brother-in-law John Coleshaw of Regina; sister-in-law Joyce Kiehl of Emerald Park and numerous nieces and nephews. Ardella is also survived by Gordons sisters Nell Aasen of Regina; Pat and her husband Dr. Andrew Thomas of Houston. Ardella was born and raised near Earl Grey, SK. She attended Balfour Tech, Regina College and the University of Saskatchewan, graduating together with Gordon in 1955 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. She worked numerous jobs to put herself through University. Following graduation, she held senior positions with the Budget Bureau of Saskatchewan, SGI and taught Economics at the University of Regina. In her early years she was active in the community including the City Planning Commission, the Albert Park Recreation Association and was the catalyst behind her husbands career. Ardellas life revolved around her children, eight grandchildren, her dogs and Shore Acres which is the gathering place for the family. All of her grandchildren were able to be with her at the lake this past summer, making it a very special time. She enjoyed the design, construction and landscaping of her homes in Regina and Shore Acres and was always there to lend a hand with projects for her children. She will be remembered for her love, generosity and for always putting others ahead of herself. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 2049 Scarth Street, Regina, Rev. E. Morrissey presiding. Reception to follow. Cremation with a private family interment in Silton Cemetery to take place in the spring. Ardella was very close to the St. Michaels Retreat House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memoriam, to St. Michaels Retreat House, P.O. Box 220, Lumsden S0G 3C0.
