Obituary of Murray Scott Hill

HILL, Murray - It is with sadness that the family announces the tragic passing of our husband, father, son, and brother, Murray, late of Kerrobert SK, on December 18, 2008 in Regina. He is survived by his wife Colleen; daughters, Crystal and Jesse; parents, Bob and Dorothy Hill, Swift Current; sister Karen Kovach (Glen), and nephew Kelly, Regina; Grandmother Greta Bailey, Red Deer; sister-in-law Winnifred Martinson, Regina; several Aunts, Uncles, numerous cousins and many close friends. Murray was predeceased by his Grandparents Mildred and Henry Hill, Sonningdale and Percy Bailey, Saskatoon; Father-in-law Jesse Martinson, Midale. Murray was born June 25, 1960 in Weyburn, SK. He lived in several locations while growing up. Murray found his home in Kerrobert and quickly settled into the small community with his wife and two daughters in 1990. He was very involved in the area as a volunteer fireman, 4H and firearm safety instructor and anything else he could volunteer for. Murray worked for Saskatchewan Power for 29 years and was very dedicated to his career. He was very passionate about his involvement with IBEW Union and was a Strong Union Brother?. Murray was shop steward several times in his career with SaskPower and was also on various committees and boards. One of Murrays passions was belonging to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, which gave him the opportunity to travel the province meeting fellow members and sharing his love of wildlife. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting season, where he could take and mentor young adults in the sport. Murray loved his Harleys?!! Over the years he owned several bikes in various stages of disrepair " much to his familys joy or dismay. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Assumption of Our Lady Catholic Church, Kerrobert, SK. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made, in memoriam, to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation Education Fund, 9 Lancaster Road, Moose Jaw, SK, S9J 1M8.
