Obituary of Agnes Alfreda Jane Eggen

AGNES ALFREDA JANE EGGEN NOVEMBER 16, 1929 DECEMBER 21, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Alfreda Eggen announces her passing on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Affectionately known as Freda? to her many friends and relatives, she was born on November 16, 1929 in Gull Lake, SK where she took her high school education. During her employment years in Regina, Freda worked as a cashier at Dominion Stores; later was a Billing Clerk for Simpsons and then spent 19 years as a Payroll Clerk at Dairy Producers before retiring in 1994. Freda especially enjoyed music and in her later years reading and her iPad games. Visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was always something she looked forward to. She shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren. Alfreda was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Alma Wilson; brother Gilbert (Rosella) Wilson; sisters Gwen (Sam) Busse and Lois (Ben) Jensen; her first husband Donald Eggen in 1975 and Edward Parnetta in 2010. Freda is survived by her brother Barrie Wilson and sister-in-law Beth of Calgary, AB; daughter Vickie (Rod) McClain, grandson Jason McClain; grandson Christopher (Ashley) McClain, Isabella and Jacob; son Wayne (Charlene) Eggen; grandson Ryan (Kara) Eggen, Reid and Addison; grandson Colin (Shelly) Eggen, Mason and Rylee; grandson Landon Eggen; son Bryan (Joni) Eggen; granddaughter Shannon (Steve) Plaviak, Josh and Annika; grandson Jeffrey (Jamie) Eggen, John; grandson Brendan (Candace) Eggen, Emily; son Kevin (Anna) Eggen, Kelsey, Meagan and Kevin Jr. Freda is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family extends thanks and gratitude to Dr. Laursen, the nurses and staff of 4A at the Pasqua Hospital for all the loving care provided to mom on her final days. A Celebration of Fredas Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. with Celebrant Michelle Rohde officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined.
