Obituary of Chung-hae Yi

YI - Chung-Hae Yi June 25, 1942 - December 23, 2008 Beloved of her husband Tae-Sik, and her three daughters Sun-Kyung (Sunny), Yu-Kyung (Sue), Hi-Kyung (Irene) and her son, Ung-S0 (Sam), Chung-Hae Yi passed away peacefully on December 23, 2008 surrounded by her family. One of the most generous members of Regina's Korean community since 1976, Chung-Hae was renowned for welcoming, helping, and feeding hundreds of visitors, students, and new Korean-Canadians. A tireless dynamo Chung-Hae worked full time since coming to Canada and raised four terrific children who are all outstanding professionals in their various occupations, two in Edmonton and two in Toronto. Chung-Hae was a loving and adored grandmother to her three grandchildren Spencer, Noah, and Aysha and they will carry her love and kindness in their hearts for the rest of their lives. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Chung-Wha and her husband Richard Chow, as well as her niece Kerry Anne and nephew Christopher. Chung-Hae will also be fondly remembered by her many friends in Regina and around the world who have all delighted in her amazing culinary and conversational skills. Chung-Hae will also be lovingly remembered by her sons-in-law Jeff Austin and John Haslett Cuff, and daughter-in-law Hyun-Ju Kim. Chung-Hae's too short life will be celebrated and forever cherished by all of who were graced with the pleasure of her vivacious and industrious company. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating.
