Obituary of Gordon Leonard Martin

MARTIN " It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Gordon Leonard Martin on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the age of 63 years. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side. His mother Annie; sister Geraldine; brother-in-law Stan Erbach; mother-in-law and father-in-law Eda and Phillip Erbach, predeceased him. He leaves behind and will be sorrowfully missed by his devoted and loving wife of 35 years, Evangeline (Vangy); daughter Jenalle; his father Ernest; three sisters, Lillian Martin, Bernice (Dorian) Hassard and Sharon Martin; sister-in-law Louise (Larry) Wirth and Elenora Erbach; brothers-in-law Les (Louise) Erbach, Ron (Cheryl) Erbach, Lloyd (Jean) Erbach, Gerald (Kathryn) Erbach; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Regina on May 20, 1945, Gordon resided in Regina all his life. He enjoyed golf, archery, cards, travel, watching sports, playing computer games, country music and talking about cars. Gordon worked at various jobs before being employed by the Regina Public School Board. He worked there for 23 years until his health forced him to retire. His family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Home Care workers and nurses for their constant care giving, also the nursing staff on 4D at the Pasqua Hospital and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. A special thanks to Dr. Das for all his help and support. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 7:00 " 7:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina with Pastor Bob Leeson officiating. Interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memoriam, to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, 104 " 10525 " 170th Street, Edmonton, AB T5P 4W2.
