Obituary of Ruth Marguerite Middelkamp

Middelkamp, Ruth It is with profound sadness the family of Ruth Middelkamp announces her passing on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Ruth is survived by Albert, her loving husband of 64 years, daughters Sharon Wait (Barry), Constance Crofts (Howard) and Denise Stevens (Allan), grandchildren Cameron Forbes, Tara Draper (Greg), Tannis and Erin Alefounder, great granddaughters Cydney and Holland Draper, brother John Fry, sister Anne Onrait and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was born on March 15, 1925 in Kipling, Saskatchewan to William and Marie Fry. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings August, Harry, Charlotte, Florence and Alfred and grandson Camerons companion of many years, Kelly Anne McDonnell. Ruths life revolved around home and her family. Her culinary skills were well known and she loved to sew for her daughters and granddaughters. She crocheted blankets and baby sets for relatives, friends and neighbours. Ruth never forgot a birthday or anniversary and spoke to her daughters, granddaughter Tara and great-granddaughters every day without fail. She was a friend to all and was concerned for the well being of others above herself. She will be missed more than words can express. During their years together, Ruth and Al enjoyed spending time with one another. In their early years together they enjoyed camping and traveling to British Columbia. In Als retirement years, they spent endless hours together attending Seniors Club, reading poetry together, shopping and simply being with family. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 1, 2009. A service to celebrate Ruths life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Ted Giese officiating. Interment to follow at Regina Memorial Gardens.
